Whoa, almost forgot!

Sorry for the glut of posts--making up for lost time, I guess--but I almost forgot to tell you the fun news! I have a new cousin! My Aunt Jera had her baby on Friday, March 30, and she is so cute! Her name is Kaylen Victoria, and here's a couple of pictures of us hanging out and doing some cousin-bonding:

Hey, everybody!

Hi, it's me Lexy. Just wanted to tell you what I've been doing lately. First, I started school. Well, it's day care, really, but I call it school and I'm learning stuff. There's a boy there I like named Caleb but Daddy says he is NOT my boyfriend. There's also another girl named Alexis! Who knew? Anyway, we play and color and I'm learning stuff, too. I can count way past 10 in English, up to 10 in Spanish and I know my ABCs pretty well, though I don't really separate L-M-N-O-P; it's more like "an-an-an-a-B." People seem to think it's cute, so maybe I'll just keep doing it!

I've learned the Easter story, and my favorite two questions to ask all the time are "why" and now "where." Here's an example of a recent conversation with my Dad while riding in the backseat of Aunt Tricia's car:

Me: Where are we going?
Dad: Wal-Mart
M: Where is Wal-Mart?
D: Maysville
M: Where is Maysville?
D: Down the road a bit
M: Where is the road?
D: Right under the car
M: Why?

You get the picture. And my most favorite other thing is to say, "I can do it myself." Mamaw Frances likes me to learn to do things myself but I think every once in a while she might just be itching to "help" me a bit. She's patient, though, so I'm learning all kinds of stuff. My chores are to help dump the crumbs off my Dora placemat into the trash after meals, and to put a new trash bag in the kitchen can after someone else empties it. I'm darn good at it too!

Well, that's kind of it for now. I'll keep dictating some posts to Aunt Tricia to kind of fill in a bit until Daddy and I have a faster internet connection. Peace out, homies!

It's me, Aunt Tricia!

Hi, Lexy's internet connection is sort of galactically slow, so I'm going to try to post a little more often than she's able to. Sometimes I can get her to tell me stories to post for her.

A quick update: last weekend was Easter, and she had an awesome time. The Easter bunny came inside the house with lots of eggs, because it was very cold outside. (His little helpers put just a few eggs outside, later, all within about 20 feet of the back door). She woke up and the FIRST thing she said was, "Did the Easter bunny come?" I told her that I had been downstairs and it looked to me like he'd been there, so she went in the other room to get Daddy and he got his video camera to film the egg hunt for Mommy. Then Lexy hunted for eggs, and just like her daddy when he was little, she wanted to stop and open each one instead of collecting them and then looking at them.

She got an awesome Diego Rescue Pack and some "moneys" for her wallet, and probably more chocolate than she needs, but who cares, it's Easter?! Then she wanted to hide the eggs and find them again. And again. And again. She's probably still hiding them. Or finding them.
